Located in an old stable, one of our favorite restaurants in the city is Tavolo. They describe their menu as “Italian with a New York twist”, with dishes made to be shared. Great atmosphere, beautiful interiors and friendly staff!

3. The Barn

For the best restaurants in Gothenburg that serve burgers, we can’t decide between The Barn and 2112 (next on our list). Stepping into The Barn feels like stepping into an old American farm, as the restaurant’s interior is completely filled with wood. The menu is simple and mostly offering burgers, each with an interesting twist.

5. Ma Cuisine

For some French cuisine in Gothenburg, Ma Cuisine is where you need to go. The dishes here are inspired by the French kitchen, but made with seasonal Swedish ingredients. It’s a small restaurant with friendly staff and beautiful interiors, making it the perfect place for a cozy dinner.

6. Kopps

If you’re looking to play some shuffleboard, this is where you need to be! Kopps is definitely one of the more laid-back places on our list. They have a breakfast menu and a lunch/dinner menu with pasta, burgers, pizzas and salads, all of which very reasonably priced. You can also come in for some coffee and a sandwich or pastry.

7. Familjen

This cozy restaurant serves modern food from the West coast of Sweden. You can either opt for a three course menu (there is also an additional wine menu) or choose from their a-la-carte menu. They are also known for their cocktails, which makes it a great place for a dinner with friends.

11. Restaurang FEI

The last on our list of the best restaurants in Gothenburg is Restaurang Fei. Located at the top of Clarion Hotel the Pier (Lindholmen) with great views of the skyline of Gothenburg, east meets west in this Chinese restaurant. You can choose between an á-la-carte menu or a 7 or 10 course shared dining menu with dishes that are selected by the chefs. They also have a karaoke room that you can rent for the night (so fun!!).
